About Malcolms Mills
History
Dating back to the 12th century, the millwright craft
has been perfected over many generations.
Originally, millwrights were specialized carpenters
who completely designed and constructed mills. At one time in the early 1800s, the community of Malcolm's Mills (now Oakland) contained 5 Mills. The Vivian Mill can be seen in the photo.
Today, modern millwrights work with steel and other
materials and must often combine the skills of other
mechanical trades in order to successfullv install
industrial machinery or to assemble machines from
prefabricated parts.
With 25 years of experience in millwrighting,
fabrication and machine repair Malcolm's Mills
transformed a family company into a Red Seal
Certified, fully mobile and diverse industrial
mechanic team. Beginning in the village of Oakland,
they refined their skills in production and mechanical
maintenance. Specializing first in factory mechanics,
Malcolm's Mills builds and maintains machinery
needed in the industry.
